Hello Elsa!

Did I mention we got another dog?

When we were in California, my wife and I came home late (3:30a.m.) from a club and this little cutie came up to us and started giving us kisses! We scooped her up and brought her home. We figured we would figure out who she belonged to after we had some much needed sleep! When we woke up in the morning, the little doggy ran right to my dad and to my surprise he said : "oh hey! You're back!" He then went on to explain how she comes to his house regularly. HE had just given her a bathe the previous week! He can't have any animals as pets currently, otherwise he said he would keep her. He told us that the lady that was watching her didn't want her to begin with, and that her past owners just left her behind because they moved and couldn't have any pets. Poor little girl! So of course, being the crazy animal lovers that we are, we took her home. Yes we drove cross country with her!
She had her own seat right in the middle of me and Jes! She is the greatest little road-trip dog!
So this is Elsa! Well her full name is Elsa Winnifred Peanut. Of course the name Elsa came from the movie Frozen and she gets asked if she wants to build a snowman everyday! ha ha! She is the most spoiled in the house! We think she is either Taco Terrier or a Chi-weenie. Either way she is ours and such a cute addition to our family! Little Rajah loves her the most. She purrs and head butts her all the time!

My niece Joy

My great nephew Judah (Joy's son)

My great Nephew Makoa & his dad (my nephew) Joon

During our vacation in California My brother Joseph was there for a few days! I was super excited! We all met up in San Clemente and hung out. We bought ice cream and candy and goofed around. The thing about me and Joseph is that we grew up together and we were always responsible for our nieces and nephews. That day we realized most of them are grown up with their own children! I can't believe how much time has passed by. Weren't we just changing their diapers?!

Anyway, we had a great time. I never realized how much I missed all of them. I also missed the Orange County Beaches. The weather was perfect that day, though the guy with the afro was a little over dressed. I had to include that picture because the girl talking to him ran up and asked if she could take a selfie with him.I almost peed myself! Then of course my nephew had to talk to him(he talks to everyone!) he had to know where he worked or if he was in a band. We found out that he worked overnights at a local grocery and he wasn't in a band. Walking on the pier was his thing and he said that people stop him daily for pictures.

We had such a great time! I miss them already.

The Sunken City/ Family Road-Trip

Thursday, July 24, 2014

"In 1929, a landslide in San Pedro, California, caused a neighborhood of exclusive homes to tumble into the ocean. At its peak, the land movement was measured at an astounding 11 inches a day. During the slide, part of the adjoining Point Fermin Park also fell into the ocean. Today, the area is called "Sunken City" by locals, and consists of the broken foundations of houses, abandoned streetcar tracks, buckled sidewalks, and empty streets. The area is now a popular hiking spot. " (Atlas Obscura)

Let me begin with how much fun I've had in the last 2 weeks! I pretty much stayed away from social media (for the most part) Sorry not sorry and it was awesome. My family and I took a 2 week long vacation traveling cross country (New Jersey to California) and we made it to Cali in 2 & 1/2 days!  Seriously, I have no idea how we did it. We never stopped for fast food, so maybe that helped. We did stop to go pee and get gas. We also stayed at hotels. The kids had plenty of snacks, movies and games. I also made travel folders for them filled with lots of activities. It was fun! No one complained! More on that later..

One of mine and Jes's first adventures was the sunken city, and yes I wore a dress! I highly recommend wearing hiking clothes, but we went to West Hollywood after, so I wanted to be cute. As you can tell from the last couple pictures of Jes, it's a little illegal to go in, but nobody listens. I'm glad I'm not prissy, because I did have to get in the dirt to go under that fence, but it was worth it. The view was amazing! If your in Cali I would highly suggest visiting this hidden gem. Visit during the day though, people hang out and party there. We saw a lot of empty bottles and broken glass. I'm pretty sure that's why my brother finds so much sea glass at the nearby beaches.

We found some big rocks in Arizona.....photo op!
More pictures to come.
To be continued....

The Love(s) of My Life

Thursday, July 10, 2014

A few weeks ago my daughter graduated from 6th grade! I know I'm a little late on this post, but I've had a lot of craziness going on! Anyway, I can't believe it. Becoming a mom was the best thing that ever happened to me, and now both my little monkeys are in middle school! They really grow up way too fast, but man they make me so proud! It's not easy being a parent that is *cough* gay *cough* but I've tried my hardest to raise my kids with morals, open minds, and kindness. Justice is right around the corner of becoming a teenager....I'm a mom of 2 teenagers! When did I get so old?! ha ha!

Time to brag...just a little. Justice graduated with 7 different awards one including honor roll. Cody had an amazing school year too! He finished off with all A's and B's and awards in sports. He is looking at mostly honors classes next year. I might make it look like it's easy, but trust me it's a lot of hard work, even some tears come into play when there are long essays and big projects that have to be done. We get them done though! Remember, I work full time and go to college myself, so all of us have a lot on our plates. Jes is our main back up and cheer leader! Her organizational skills is what keeps us in order. I love my little family!
