Instagram....Before & After

Thursday, November 29, 2012

If you follow me on Instagram, then you have seen most of these pictures. When it comes to my photography, I'm a huge lover editing. I use everything from Photoshop to Picmonkey.com. Most of my Instagram photos go through at least 3 different apps until they make it to my photo stream. Some of my highly used apps are Camera+, Squareready (to get rid of the unwanted black frame that shows up when a picture doesn't fully fit) Bokeh Booth, Photo Blender and Picframe. Of course I have a lot more photo apps then that, but I don't use them that often. Through most of the photography classes I took during college, I was always pushed by my professors' do more things "outside of the box" and as an artist I try to do as much as I can. I love going beyond just fixing brightness and contrast. Which makes it super easy for me to take a simple photo, and make it amazing. Do you have any photo apps that you love, that I didn't mention? And if you have any questions...ask away :)

**Totally in Love with This Dress from Modcloth**

)) This Owl necklace is so cute! ((

**I absolutely adore these Shoes!!**

)) Pretty sure these Tights will be in my stocking for Christmas((

** This tote bag  is so awesome and something I would own!!!**

Okay, so quite a few of these items are from Modcloth, but can you blame me? I'm totally obsessed with them. All those cute clothes and accessories who could resist? Not me :) Anyway, this week has been so busy for me. In fact, after today, I'm not sure when I will get a day off from work. That's okay though because I enjoy being able to support my family. I also did a little thrifting and hopefully I can get some of my small haul up on a post. We went shopping for tacky Christmas themed clothes for our photo cards that we are sending to family and I'm kind excited about them. I'll put a little preview up of the pictures soon...

Thanksgiving Recap - Family Time

Sunday, November 25, 2012

So here's another little peek into my world. I'm back from a little vacation...which wasn't a vacation at all!! I have been so busy, that I'm completely exhausted. I think this has been the longest break I have ever taken from blogging. Since I work in retail again, I was apart of the whole Black Friday fiasco, which lasts until Saturday night. Talk about crazy retail stuff! Our Thanksgiving was awesome though! My vegan cupcakes came out super yummy, and my cranberry sauce was hit! It was fun to see all of my wife's family together. Now that Thanksgiving is done it's now time to move onto Christmas. We actually spent today putting up all the inside decorations...which gets me really excited for the holidays! Have you guys started decorating yet?

Every year my wife's family gets together for the holidays. This Thanksgiving we will be at her grandmother's house. Her grandma also wanted to switch things up, and have everyone bring a dish to help out with the cooking. I can't blame her at all, there's going to be about 20 of us there for dinner! The yummy food I posted here are the dishes My wife and I will be preparing. I'm making the homemade cranberry sauce and the cupcakes. Of course they are both sweet, sweet is my specialty. I know I mentioned this in my last post, but I'm so excited! I love having a reason to cook. I normally cook for every holiday, so it's nice to contribute. My dishes will be vegan, because I'm vegetarian, and I've been dying to try to make some vegan cupcakes. Of course I will let you guys know how they turn out. Do you plan on cooking anything? If so tell me about it!

I'm totally going to have to make these....I love gingerbread cookies!

How awesome are these snowman cupcakes! I love the pink contrasting with the blue. Can you believe it's already time to start planning holiday food?! It still feels like Fall during the day, but it's really cold at night. Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and I will be making homemade cranberry sauce, and pumpkin spice cupcakes with a cinnamon cream cheese frosting for our family gathering. The best part is, that my cupcakes will be vegan, even the frosting.....I can't wait! I love getting together with everyone and eating food. That's when the best memories are made. What are your plans for this upcoming week?

Outfit Diary - Back to Black

Thursday, November 15, 2012

With all the craziness that has been going on, I decided to dye my hair black again. I love having pink in my hair, but sometimes the up keep is just to much to handle. I know the black will eventually drive me crazy, and I'll be diving back into the bleach, and adding some fun crayola color. Anyway, this fun polka dot dress is one that I have featured before in this post. That was almost a year ago, and the funny thing is, is that I had just dyed my hair black then too! Maybe black hair is my winter thing. I originally bought this dress for my wedding reception. I didn't get to wear it until later that night when we got home. I also wore it during our honeymoon cruise. I think it's really cute, and it compliments my shape.

Hidden Treasures

Monday, November 12, 2012

These items are from recent hauls. The beaded necklace is from an Estate Sale.
This piece is so amazing! It's a vintage necklace from Iran. It has had a long journey!
I love when Bokeh happens on accident!
This very large needle point was only $3. I couldn't pass it up.
Never used stationary, only $.50. Yes please! My daughter has already written a letter with it.
 Pretty little earrings.
An awesome little add to my jewelry collection. I haven't decided whether or not to add these to my shop.
Mr. Kovu doing what he does best!
 Such a beautiful day out!!
These little treasures are from the our local library, I love to read real paper, the old fashion way. I'm not going to bore you with what I read, but it's mostly fiction filled with vampire's, werewolves and all sorts of mythical creatures. When I escape from reality, I want to fully escape!
This is another library book...and Cupcake obsessing over tape.

Today has been a good, relaxing day. Obviously, look at Petunia's face! As I fussed over taking pictures, all my fur babies lounged around. My wife was even napping in the bed. We actually have a few more goodies that I didn't show on this post, but they disappeared somewhere? We got this really neat vintage rolling pin that had shapes carved into it. I also got a really cool handmade apron. Hopefully I'll find them. I always try to put things in places where I won't lose them, and then I forget where I put them! Haha. I hope you all out there are starting off the week well.....

Have a Great Day!
