Well we survived the weekend! I have a lot of things planned for this week and hopefully I can accomplish some of them. One is to get my Etsy shop and running! I have been brain storming with my other half and we decided to make some changes to the blog too...good changes of course! I am also sending out my "Send Something Good" package today. So excited! And here are some really cute Monday blues I found...

I love this butterfly necklace so much! The gold chain looks dainty and cute :)

This suitcase is amazing! The artwork is awesome too. I remember my mom having a suitcase like this when I was little and I use to try to curl up inside it.

Fill in the blank Friday

Friday, April 27, 2012

This picture was taken outside of the thrift store, from the other day :)

Time for some fill in the blanks brought to us by : the little things we do

1.  When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is,   hit the snooze button! and if the alarm isn't going off, I roll over and snuggle my wife  .

2.   I can hardly wait for    my in-laws to come visit in a few weeks! I'm so excited, my wife's grandma and her husband are coming too   .

3.  The quickest way to my heart is     hug's & kisses       because    I'm a sucker for a sweet kiss on the cheek .

4. A little known fact about me is that     I have a weakness for sweet treats, but I'm horrified about becoming diabetic. I have to watch my sweet intake, but I can never turn down a cupcake. My favorite cupcakes are vanilla with a fudge frosting.

5. The best part about my job is     that it's gives me the freedom to be home more, to spend time with my family.

6. Something I just couldn't live without is    my make up it goes everywhere I do, especially my eyeliner, I haven't left the house without eyeliner and mascara for the last 16 years!

7.  Something useful that I wish I knew how to do is   garden.I am a plant killer, I don't do it on purpose, I just do not have a green thumb. I'm terrified of creating a garden and it all dying.

Have a great Weekend!

Cute...but Strange Thursday

Thursday, April 26, 2012

I hope everyone has had a fabulous week! I've been busy with school work and regular work and I'm so glad it's Thursday, that means one more day til the weekend! It's been raining a lot around here too, so I really can't wait for the sun to visit us again! I want to go hiking and take lots of pictures. Lately we have been seeing a lot of wild life around the house like bears and moose, to name a few. It's exciting, but scary at the same time! My kids have been on spring break this week, but we have had such yucky weather that they haven't been able to do anything fun. Anyway here are a few cute photos I found, and wanted to share :)

This little guy is so cute! I want to get the pattern, but he looks hard to make!

I have so many things planned this week, and hopefully I can get to them all. I wish the weather would cooperate a little more though. It's rainy and cold here, which makes me feel like doing nothing! I hope every one had a good weekend, my was pretty laid back. That was nice. I've really got to get back into baking again. I miss it so much! I love doing my Cupcake Sunday posts, but I would much rather be sharing my own work. Hopefully this weekend I can do that! Anyway I hope you all have a fabulous Monday!

DIY by Magical Daydream

Wednesday, April 18, 2012

I'm so excited for todays post! We have a special guest, who is also one of my lovely sponsors. Marielle from Magical Day Dream is sharing an awesome DIY to spiffy up old albums or books.
I'll let her tell you about it:

Hi! I am Mariƫlle from Magical Day Dream, and I would like to share a simple tutorial to cover up your old books, albums and notebooks with fabric.

  1. Materials needed: A notebook or album you want to cover, piece of fabric, scissors and glue.

  1. Cut out a piece of fabric that is a bit bigger than your book. Take into account that if the back is thick, you will need some extra fabric for the width.

  1. Hold the book in the middle of the fabric and cut until you touch upon the edges of the back of your book. Doing this with a bit of an angle (in stead of vertical) might make it easier to fold the fabric in a later stage. I corrected the angle a bit by cutting a piece off after. Then glue the middle part to the inside.

  1. Apply glue on the back of the book. Smear it to distribute the glue well; that way you don’t get visible glue stains in the fabric. Make sure the back is glued to the middle of the piece of fabric.

  1. Then do the same for the back and front cover.

  1. Cut the edges off the fabric so it’s easier to fold the fabric to the inside of the book.

  1. Glue the pieces of fabric that are still sticking out to the inside of the book. I did this the quick and easy way, but you could also do it more neatly, by example folding the fabric an extra time.

8.  And tadaa! Your book is covered! I have done this loads of times. It is a really easy way to make your photo-album, inspiration booklet, notebook or agenda fancy looking in a fabric print you adore.

Thank you so much for stopping by Marielle! I love this DIY and I have quite a few books and albums that need new covers. I love giving old things new makeovers :)

I hope you all are having a great week so far!

Blue Crochet

I had such an amazing weekend! I'm so sad to see it go. We went to the movies and saw 1000 words with Eddie Murphy, and it was so funny! We also got to spend a lot of family time together. The only downside was my wife got hurt and we spent last night in the E.R. She is okay. The doctor was convinced she had a fracture in her foot, but he could not find anything in her X-rays. They put her in a walking cast and on crutches and she is adorable. She's never broken or hurt anything severely in her life, so seeing her on crutches is kinda funny. Well my work week is about to begin...boooo. I hope it's a productive week! anyway, how cute is the iphone owl case up there?! I love it :)

I am lovin these cute slippers and the pattern is available here at TwoGirlsPatterns

This little peacock is awesome! I love all the bright colors and buttons...too cute! Via: Crafting Alchemist
I love the blues in this. I think I have had enough practice now to actually try to make a stuffed animal and I love looking around to find inspiration. This little guy is from Plus3Crochet and I think he is adorable!
Do you like to crochet? And how was your weekend?

Cupcake Sunday

Sunday, April 15, 2012

Happy Sunday! Today is so beautiful outside and we have lots of family stuff planned :) I've been thinking a lot about tattoos lately and one my good friends is a tattoo artist, so he hooked me up with a couple cute hearts on the top of my wrist. (free of course) They're so cute, I love them! The hearts are from a Hello Kitty coloring book and I almost got Hello Kitty, but I think I will wait for a later time.

They are still dark in the picture, I barely got them last night. I can't wait to add more! I too, will someday have some cute treats tattooed on me. My little hearts mark the 7th time I've been tattooed, but they are so little I almost don't count them :) I found some cute cupcake inspiration while surfing around for ideas....

This portrait is amazing! I love all the shading, it's perfect!

Post &  picture Via: the little things we do

1.  Today is a good day because   because I got ready for work early and I'm posting!Plus it's Friday...that's always exciting  .

2.   The best thing I did all week was    think and reflect on my life, trying to figure out what is coming by the choices I've made  .

3.  The current weather is     Sunny      and it makes me feel     happy  .

4. The best thing about spring is     all the flowers blooming! I love the warmer weather and I love wearing dresses and shorts again!.

5. A fashion trend that I'm dying to try out for spring is Something I haven't thought of.I need to do a little research I guess, but I'm happy with my fashion right now.

6. A person who made me smile this week was    My daughter, she is so silly! I love it. I hope she never grows out of her silliness.

7.  The most delicious thing I ate all week was   the spaghetti I made the other night! It was so delicious!! I ate it for breakfast and lunch the next day.

I hope everyone has had a great week! I hope you all have some fun plans for this weekend. We are having new floors put in our bedroom, so we will be re-doing our bedroom. I'm so excited! I think I'm going to add more pink in my hair...and I have a Modcloth dress I wanted to share....so hopefully I can sneak a photo shoot in this weekdend!

Have a great day!

What I've been up to...

Tuesday, April 10, 2012

So I have subscribed to julep.com  and I have become obsessed with their nail polish. If you haven't checked them out you should! They have a huge variety of colors and the quality is amazing! The nail polish also dries pretty quickly and I only need to put two coats on at the most. With other nail polishes it seems like I have to keep coating just to get the result I want.

In this picture I used Charlotte and Jessica for an Easter theme. I added some Wet N' Wild glitter too. This is my favorite nail polish to use right now. I'm so glad I tried something new, because nothing is worse than cheap nail polish that smears after an hour of drying and this is completely dry within 10 minutes!

Also, I know I have mentioned before that I love sending and recieving letters or packages and over at Gentri Lee's blog she has posted about a project that I so happily signed up for!

Click on the link above to find out more. I know that I am very excited about it! It's great opportunity to make new friends and with what better people than other bloggers! I hope some of you out there sign up too....you never know, we could end up being secret sisters :)

Here's an Easter picture, most of them were fails, which was very upsetting. My son kept making silly faces. It must be a teenager thing. I was so exhausted in this picture. This last week I think was spent in hoodies and jeans just because of all the snow we have been having still! Hopefully this dreary weather brightens up soon!

April Showers
Hand painted umbrella  Via: jyudeidei
Happy Monday everyone! Can you believe the weekend is over already? Easter came and went super fast! We had a lot fun this weekend. I wish we lived closer to family though. At the end of day yesterday we gave up on the traditional Easter dinner and just had spaghetti. My wife comes from a very big and close family, so it's hard for us during the holidays because we live so far away. Maybe someday we will live closer. Anyway today I have some cute rainy blue finds! Enjoy :)

Kawaii Cloud and sparkly rain drop earrings Via: yuyuXD

I am in love with these earrings! The little clouds are adorable with their raindrops. Too bad they are sold out! I would have totally bought a pair.

I am lovin' this necklace too. It's so cute with it's brass umbrella and glass raindrops, there's only 1 available and I might just have to buy it :)
Via: Modcloth
What a great idea! Save your pennies for a rainy day :) I love coin banks and this one is great for those rainy day funds. Usually you can find all my change in a drawer or mason jars!
Umbrella Coasters via: MariMartin
These coasters are really fun :) I crocheted my own coasters and I love them, but these ones are very cute and great for a rainy day, like today.

Well that's it, I made it to Monday and now to survive the rest of the work week. I have a really busy week this week and an interview that has me very nervous! Wish me luck because it's a huge step in my career. I hope everyone has a great Monday!

Cupcake Sunday

Sunday, April 8, 2012

Yay! It's Easter! I can't believe how fast it came. We had an Easter egg hunt this morning and then ate some of the eggs for breakfast. I recieved lot's of goodies too! My kids and wife bought me cards, candies and some pretty flowers for me to plant. I felt so spoiled! I almost never make a big deal out of Easter, but this year it felt extra special. No matter what your religion, the candy and festivities are so much fun. I think Spring and Easter cupcakes are some of my favorite cupcakes too!

These bunnies are too cute! I love when bakers incorporate smaller cupcakes...neat idea!

I love mini cupcakes, and this adorable bunny family of cupcakes is just too cute to eat...but I would still at them! So cute :)

Every Sunday I love sharing all my online finds and now that we are getting more settled in our new home, I want to do a lot more baking....like I use to. I admit that I have baked a couple times since we have been here, but my cupcakes didn't come out as beautiful as I hoped. I'm still getting use to my oven. It's propane and my other one was some fancy electric stove that was precise about the temperature. It spoiled me! So I'm still trying to get a feel for this stove. I'm getting there and I can't wait to post some of my own cupcakes! I hope everyone is having a great weekend and an awesome Sunday :)

Frolic in the Woods

Friday, April 6, 2012

I went for a little walk with my daughter and we came across an area that had some interesting picnic tables and strange signs. We stopped and took some pictures. I was wearing jeans and that infamous jacket that I'm obsessed with. I used a color process filter on the pictures to give them a dreamy look, because with the creek and cloudy weather, it felt like a hazy dream.

I hope everyone has had a good week....happy Friday!

My daughter took these pictures and she wanted me to be silly...so here's my silly picture :) Do you guys have any exciting Easter plans for this weekend? We do! Lots of egg hunts and candy!
